Poor little guy, I feel your pain seeing him so out of it and disoriented after a head injury Hoping the vet calls this AM to say he's up and active and ready to go home!
We had a pretty serious accident with Kiwi a few weeks back, knocked himself out cold. Absolutely terrifying. Very out of it for quite some time, but beyond a small scrape on the cere he ended up being fine. They are pretty durable little critters and no doubt Salty will recover and be right back to his vivacious, naughty zon self soon!

Oh Al, I'm so sorry to hear about Salty's accident. You reacted quickly and made the best possible decision. I'm glad you have complete confidence in Salty's vet, that makes so much difference. I hope Salty had a peaceful night and will be back home and fully recovered. Wishing your family the very best.

OK just got back from the vets. Salty is home. Dr thinks he has a mild concussion, x-ray of his head showed no issues, he got tube fed 2x, and pain mess X2 and I have some to give him tomorrow. She said the big thing to watch for is if he won't eat, which he promptly did upon getting into his cage (1 peanut). He is sleeping now, not surprised because they said he did not sleep well last nite. Him , Geri and myself. We have to figure out something besides his chain to use as his birdy highway, maybe some rope. A great big parrot forum thank you to everyone for the support, kind words and prayers. They do help when your a mess because your baby is sick or hurt. Salty is not out of the woods yet but vet felt OK enough to let him come home.
Thank goodness Salty is back home! I am keeping those prayers coming that he is back to his normal self quickly. I hope the three of you can get some sleep tonight.

So happy to hear some guardedly good news about Salty! He seems to have a vigilant and caring vet, so the decision to release Salty to those who love him best should aid recovery.

phewwwwft! sighhhhhh... Happy to hear The Saltmiesters doc felt he is well enough to go home..where he belongs! I can pretty much guarantee that Salty thinks the same way,being home with his parronts is good medicine and being back in familiar surroundings.
