Safira is a 6 month old blue and gold macaw, who is really starting to show her own personality. I have 3 dogs, and had hoped that she'd not want to fly down and walk around on the floors because of them.
She proved me wrong last night. Not only does she not fear the dogs, she uses them to try to climb onto things like my computer chair. Or she'll hop on my biggest dog Trip for a ride around the living room (supervised.)
I was holding onto his mouth to try to keep him still for a picture. He thought it was great fun, I think he likes the feel of her claws on his back.
All three of my dogs like the bird, they don't bother her, but I'm careful not to leave them and her in the same room without me.
