Safe way to spider bomb?

We have a spider problem at my house! I keep finding them in my bedroom! I have lived in this area for 18 years and have never had one like this. It's wolf spiders (or something really similar), so they are a little venomous but not super dangerous. The biggest problem for me is that I am arachnophobic! The last 2 nights I have found them in my bed! I can deal with daddy longlegs, but not the thick, fast moving spiders!

Are there any bird safe ways to get rid of them all? I was thinking about bug bombs, but I don't know if they are safe for birds after the gas has cleared out. What do you guys know about this? Gassing sounds like the easiest solution to me, but I don't know if some sort of toxic residue sticks around after the fact.

Any other ideas? HELP!!!

Sorry to hear about your spider problem, Remy.
How is your home laid out? How far away are your birds from your room?

My GF had a SEVERE stink bug infestation in her bedroom last fall, and she DID "bomb" it. Her bedroom is upstairs, the birds downstairs. She shuffed clothing tightly underneath the door to her room, so that no fumes could escape. Hours after bombing she opened all bedroom windows and turned on several fans.

It worked for her, and the birds were not affected at all.

Darcy stays in the living room (one story house, and the hallway is in between the living room and bedrooms), but I figured I would take him to my boyfriend's house while I did it. I see them mostly in the bedrooms for some reason, and not so much in the common areas.

Any idea if they leave a toxic residue once it's gone? How do they work, exactly?

He spends a lot of time in my bedroom, so I don't want the bedroom to be unsafe after use.

I am also open to other means of getting rid of spiders. A fogger or bomb might not be the best solution for me.

You can use Sevin Dust 5 percent & dust it around your room, but be careful & use a mask so you don't inhale it.....it is also safe around your feathered friends.....

I just went to the website, and the pet safe one is no longer in production... the ones they have now are not recommended for indoor use at all. :-(

I know this might sound like a weird question - but what type of ceiling lights to do have??

My partner and I had this problem a little while ago - they were coming in from the roof through the lights - the builders had put a bigger than necessary hole in the roof to bring the wires through for the lights.

We solved the problem by spraying expander foam into the hole - worked a treat.

Food grade diatamaeous earth is good for a lot of bugs and creepys. I cleaned out hamster cage last night and there were a bunch of spiders around the base so I sprinkled DE around before I put it back in place so next time I wont be dodging spiders while I clean.

Actually, I think you might be right on. My mom had all of the electrical work in the house redone a while back, but she never had the holes in the walls fixed after. In my room, I fixed the holes in the walls, but I haven't put on plates over the switches and outlets, and there are 3 holes in my ceiling... We are making plans to get everything repaired, but but it won't be for a while longer...

Some feed stores carry it and I've heard of people getting it at Home Depot, but I'm pretty sure my husband ordered it online. But make sure it's the food grade and not the stuff for pools
