Rules to teach your parrot

Don't bite the TV or any of its ancillary devices
Don't bite electrical cables
Don't bite the kids
Don't bite each other
Most of all: DON'T BITE MUMMY!!!
 
@GinaF- i love your sense of humor!
@Betrisher- if only black jack listened to "don't bite each other"! he tries to bite my dove and finches if the opportunity comes along, but hasn't been successful. i guess he makes up for his failed biting attempts by stomping on top of my dove/finch cage. he just loves watching all the little finches flip out and buzz around my dove, who gets very annoyed at them. when i catch him in the act, he mumbles a innocent squawk and reluctantly waddles to my hand :rolleyes:

a big rule i have for black jack is to grumble/squawk instead of scream. nanday conures have been known to rival sun conures when screaming, and black jack definitely lives up to it. i personally don't mind his screams, I've gotten used to it. but for the sake of my future neighbors, i train him to make a little grumble noise to get my attention. he still gets to scream as he naturally would, but i make sure he knows that screaming for attention wont work. its a work in progress, but he's learning fast :).
