RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is one of the most active animal welfare groups in Australia. Every year they raise money through cupcake day, where cupcakes are made and sold to raise money for the RSPCA. They rescue dogs, cats, birds, equines and any animal imaginable, spray, neuter and rehome them. They also protect animals from unnecessary hardship and are one of the more ethical and respectable charities out there.

From the RSPCA website

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is a community based non-government animal welfare charity. Established in 1871, our team of staff and volunteers work each and everyday to better the lives of the thousands of animals that come into our care each year.

Last year in Victoria alone, our Inspectorate received over 14,000 claims of animal cruelty. Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (POCTAA) our inspectors are the only non-government officers with the power to lay charges against cases of animal cruelty. It costs approximately $3 million annually for our inspectorate to operate including legal costs and the costs of caring for seized animals.

The RSPCA belives that all animals should be...

o Free from hunger and thirst.
o Free from discomfort.
o Free from pain, injury and disease.
o Free to express normal behaviour.
o Free from fear and distress

Once again this year I will be raising funds through cupcake day! I will of course be making and selling cupcakes (for a gold coin donation) but you can still help out! You can donate to my cupcake drive via this link
