Round #2 (AFTER Hurrican Sandy)

Sorry the weather's so bad! (((((Hugs))))) In our neck of the woods (Cali, lol) were ok enough that we don't get anything but minor earthquakes and occasional large ones. :) It will be over soon, I hope. :) Stay off the news channel too! Lol

UGH!!! I've got power and I feel bad for those who don't have their power back yet. :(

ConureCrazy: We had an earthquake here! I was driving down I295 and thought it was wind blowing my car around (I have a Plymouth POS aka Clown Car aka Neon) and when I looked at the trees I realized there was no wind and though "Hmmmm, that was odd. Maybe a tire is going to fall off! OMG A TIRE IS GOING TO FALL OFF!" My dearest Essie (the car) is very reliable... until it snows or rains or a slight breeze blows or an earthquake. Anyway, once I got where I was going people kept asking me if I felt the earthquake. "Earthquake? What earthquake?"

We're expecting 2-4 inches of snow Wednesday, though that's them predicting it on the low side. Hopefully it isn't too bad, especially because of the people who still don't have power. My great-great-uncle called last night to see how we were doing after Sandy. He just celebrated his 90th birthday and is really starting to slow down. He said it took him awhile (I realized almost a week) to realize that he had family in NJ that may have been hit by the storm.

Good luck to everybody who may hit by this next round of crappy weather.

I hear ya. I'm so not looking forward to it.

I've had that happen too. What earthquake? I never feel them well if they're tiny ones. ;)

Just noticed your thread here, Wendy. That's all you don't need! You sure deserve a break from that stuff :smile005:

Good luck! I almost feel bad because I live in California, and we only get occasional earthquakes. I think I'd be afraid to move to the east coast.

Oh yes, I'm definitely ready now. :30:

The first 2 pictures were taken early this morning. This is my daily visitor, a Cooper's Hawk. I've grown quite fond of him.

...and this is supposed to be just the beginning??

Yick, snow! here in the BC interior it's 6 degrees C (43 F) and sunny while 10 hours east they've had 50 cm of snow since this morning. Thankfully we have no effects from the storm front this far west.

LOL, Mine don't have snow on them.

hang in there.

I almost got blown back when I came out from school, didn't put my hoodie on then BAM , little pricks and needles cover my entire face. Didn't we have enough from sandy ? Feel bad for my neighbors that don't have heating ... It started slush snowing here, it isn't snow nor rain . We almost got a half day today because our school lights were flickering then it was complete darkness, we were in the middle of math and it was pitch black then after 10 seconds it came back on. Anybody else experience same ?

Power went out last night around 9:30PM. I've had it! Hooked up the generator and have necessities running. (Yes, internet is a necessisty - for me) It is SO cold though. :( Got a space heater running in the bird room and bedroom, rest of the house feels like a refrigerator.

I'll post pictures of the GREAT OUTDOORS once we get some daylight.

No clue when the power will be restored. :smile005:

Gee Wendy, that's terrible :smile033:. I'm relieved to know that you at least have your generator up and running... please be sure to keep your fuel supply as full as possible! And I truly hope your power gets restored soon!

Thanks Plax! Our gasoline is currently being rationed due to the hurricane last week. Luckily my license plate ends in an even number, and I'm allowed to fill up today :)

Power is "supposed" to be restored for "most" people in my town by Saturday <FAINT>!

Here are some pictures I just took. Mind you, it's still pretty dark out, but you can clearly see the damage done to many of my plants :(

Look at the ***hsia which continues to bloom protected under our porch.
