Rosy Bourke Parakeet- Mango
We are adopting a Rosy Burke from a family that has had her for 5 years. We are super excited to dive into bird ownership, and have been doing loads of research to make her space as welcoming as possible.

I’ve read that birds are incredibly social, and she has been alone since they brought her home as a baby. I want to get her acclimated to her new space before throwing any new family members at her, but would like to eventually get her a friend.

First question, is this okay being that she has been alone for so many years?

Second, does anyone have suggestions for reputable breeders in Indiana that have bourkes? Also willing to venture to Illinois, Kentucky, and Ohio. We prefer to rescue, but know that sometimes specific requests take patience and time.

A real cutie. I had a neighbor way back when who had a same sex pair. They were basically quite. She had one complaint. They loved to fly! They tried often! She was paranoid that they'd get out.

I’m really excited and have heard nothing negative so far! Seems like a great breed for first-time bird owners. My five year old is a total animal lover and is so excited to have a new friend!
