Rest in Peace Rio
River was looking too cute having some freshly made birdie mash, I just had to share his picture. Sweet potatos, carrots, kale, brocolli, grape juice, and cinnamon.

Thanks all! I love how his little tongue was sticking out when I took that picture! :)

That is so adorable!

Did you mash it all up by hand or put it in the blender? I'm having some trouble getting Merlin to take her meds. Yesterday morning I put them on Nutriberries but it took her like 3 hours to eat it all. Then I put another on toast with peanut butter to hide it. But, then last night she didn't want to eat either of those and I had to towel her. She hated it, and it was hard for me to hold her and get the meds in her being such a big bird. A 139 gm conure I can do myself a lot easier than a 470 gm Grey. I don't think I can recruit a neighbor for help as they find the birds scary.

I mashed it up in my ninja (I love that thing lol). Since I had quite a bit of stuff, I couldn't do it all at once, so I mashed some stuff, and put it into a bowl until I did it all, then I mixed it up in the bowl. Then I portioned it out onto a plastic sheet, and put it into the freezer. Once frozen, the portions can all to into a freezer bag for later use.

Oh! wanted to add, putting in a bit of grape juice (or whatever kind is handy) seemed to make it easier to the blender to mix it up. :)

My Grey loves pureed baby food which is great for meds. The kind in small jars. I get the organic ones of different flavors so it's not boring......sweet potatoes, peas, apple sauce etc.....the key is to put all the meds in the first spoonful. She also prefers it warm.
