I loved your videos Wendy! Ripley looks as if he has lived with you since he was a baby. He is so comfortable in his new home & it shows. I can see the impish look in Niko"s eyes. It definity reminds me of my Roscoe & his pinching a bit harder than he needs to sometimes. Then I swear he had a grin on his face like a child after being naughty.

Roscoe & Angel are brothers & for the first 3 months with me they lived together in their large aviary. Then Roscoe became the dominate bird & I divided the aviary between them. They still mock fight through the wire & still try to preen each other through the wire. As far as being able to be on a perch together, not anymore. Roscoe gets too bossy with Angel. I do have all my birds out at the same time on separate perches, but they do have to have space between each & no bird better dare step foot on the others' perch. Only when I can watch them tho. None want to share play areas or cages. The budgies are the exception. They are all in a large flight cage together & get along great. I don't let them out as none are hand tame.

Thank you so much, De'Andrea. :) I am truly so unbelievably happy how quickly Ripley made himself at home. I really hope this is not just a "honeymoon" period ;) I fully expect him to be ornery at times....Niko is certainly NOT setting a good example for him. :54:

IMPISH LOOK! That's just PERFECT! Yup, that's exactly the look Niko has most of the time. :D

How many more days before your baby arrives? I know it won't be long now. :) You must be getting SO very excited.

Those java trees are great Wendy:)

They seem to be getting on ok and I have a feeling that Niko and Ripley will become great friends:)

Thanks Wendy! :D I sure hope you're right. I had a bit of tail pulling going on this morning. NO feathers were lost or damaged. Yesterday Ripley grabbed Niko's tail, and this morning Niko saw his opportunity to get even - and he took it. :54:

I got another update on Ruby Jewel with a couple of new photos yesterday.:red1: Kitty says she is just now mouthing the fresh foods & not eating any of the dry foods yet. So, looks like my girl wants to stay a baby for awhile longer. Kitty said she doesn't believe in forcing her babies to wean & I assured her that I would never ask her to do that. I told her tho I would love to have Ruby jewel home like today, I am just fine with waiting til my darling is ready. She says she wants to be on her all the time & cuddles constantly, spoiled already!!:D

Thanks for the update, Turquoise! It's gotta be so hard for you just waiting for her like this

I love reading your posts and seeing how your boys are doing. So happy they are getting along so well. Ripley is so beautiful!

Its been three weeks since we took in Waddles my B&G and she wants so badly to get over by my grey Kiwi but I am so scared she will hurt her or vice versa. They talk to each other and are always saying hello. I would love to test them near each other but Im so nervous and not completely sure how to go about that! The B&G is so much bigger then her.

So the transition was so smooth for you!

Thank you very much, Wendy. :)

I'd be scared to death to let a Kiwi get close to Waddles or vice versa, too. One bite of a big mac can do SO much damage. :( How close have they gotten to each other? Are they housed close to each other?

Since I combined the Java Trees, the "play area" is about 8' wide and 4' deep. That's a whole lot of room for both Ripley AND Niko. ;) So far so good. They haven't fought (yet) but they haven't exactly made friends yet either, lol. I do keep a VERY close eye on them when they're on the trees. They spend about 6 hours a day on there in total. :)

Wendy, do you remember the pics of the big playstand/tree I built? We had just got ReaRea and Halo but they were so young that Lani used it the most. By the time Rea and Halo were perching really well Lani thought it was her tree and no one else. I ended up taking it apart and making some smaller stands for all of them. That and I needed room for more cages. :54:

OMG...is that Rea Rea???? What does she have her head in???? LMAO.

Ok, so right this moment I'm taking a break from the big macs. The Amazons are out..and they are SO easy compared to the big ones. :21:

My hands (and body) are SO sore. I cut up wood already this morning, 4 pieces of 2X4s. I'm currently in the process of pre-drilling holes and my hands are going into muscle failure. :52:

Ripley is feeling especially good today - apparently - because he's being QUITE vocal. :30: The amount of flapping he's done already, in combination with chewing up about a pound of wood, and then "some" lunging at me while I wanted to cuddle. No, he didn't bite, I believe he was feeling a bit ornery and testy. And each time he did it he made a sound like a laughing hyena. NO KIDDING! :31:

So I guess I can now assume that the fun is about to begin. :54:

:D Conner's lunch box. :) And yes, it's Rea

Get used to the lunging, you'll learn to know their mood/intentions when they do this. Rea is a "master" at it, with Miri I can always tell by her body language what her intentions are.

ROFLMAO. Did she destroy the lunch box, or did you get to it in a nano second? :)

...and I spoke too soon. I'm quite sure I'll be sporting my first Ripley bruise tomorrow. On my upper arm he managed to "find" the skin through my jacket. :30:

I sure hope I'll learn to read his body language SOON, lol. ;)

No they are no where near each other but they can see and talk accross the room. They are both free and flighted but neither one of them are good fliers actually I think they were both clipped as babies and never learned.

I used to think Kiwi my grey was so big but that was before the Mac came now she looks so tiny! I haven't gotten seriously bit by the mac yet but I have by Kiwi and she can be pretty vicious depending on her mood but usually she is a sweety. The Mac im cautious cause I haven't really learned her movements yet but so far other then her jealous screaming when Im around the kids (yup seriously) or other birds I haven't had an issue. I think a meeting will be unlikely in the near future at least!
