Has anybody been to this lately? I would like to go tomorrow but wonder how many venders there will be and how it compares to the Fort Worth one which has shrunk a lot.

Some bird marts have an online map of the vendors, have you looked into that to see of they have one?

I did look and they don't show anything. These have been shrinking and it is about sixty miles for us so I was hoping somebody went last year.

There' 4 bird shows within an 80 mile radius of me & all 4 have been getting smaller.....it's the economy...a lot of people still don't have the disposable income to do much buying - no buying, less vendors, plus I've had a few tell me they're fighting online vendors.....

Online vendors are a challenge for many exhibitors, but I have noticed that many of these vendors also sell online.

Many people are going online it is just more convent then having to get up and walk around, that's just to much work.

I was going to make the trek to Richardson today but, in the end, elected not to. I've become increasingly uncomfortable about bird germs and all those toys making the rounds to all those bird marts (they cart them from mart to mart until they sell), getting exposed to every thing there and what people have on their hands when they touch them. As much as I enjoy bird marts, I think I'm one of those that has made the switch to just online purchasing. If you go, be careful. Let us know a review if you went. . .

I love my birdfair.I save so much money .I can buy a years worth for my 9 birds [did you see Harlows picture?] The guy who runs mine makes the toys I get.{Their of course bird safe] I have a macaw and like big toys [seems to be same price in the store or internet.] Normally it would be 50 to 70 dollars for the size I like.Most of his stuff was 10 to 12 dollars. The most I spent was 18, He even had some stuff half price. I think maybe he could do this because he has access to the right kind of scrap wood.I ended up with 42 toys! Kind of a good business idea for you guys with tools and wood.

I agree that buying online is a false sense of security. Many of those sellers also go to the shows, and have birds of their own. We go for the toy prices. Macaw toys are horrendously expensive elsewhere. We make most of them, and recycle parts from the purchased ones. Richardson was ok. A lot smaller than the one in Fort Worth and very few big birds.
