Is that pic Poppy or Vinnie?? Very beautiful whichever it is!

That picture is Poppy, she is one very remarkable Blue fronted Amazon. I have encountered many amazons as I train and handle birds for exotic bird store that only sells to people it feels will take care of the bird and the birds are never sold unless the person comes in a few days a week for minimum of 2 weeks and spends time with the bird. Impluse buying of a bird is discouraged. There are 3 sitting rooms with perches and toys to get to know your potential new bird.

Poppy is one very unique Amazon, has a vocabulary that I have never seen even on many Greys. She says complete sentences with thought and clarity. Some 1350 to 1700 words she knows, and understands the meaning of many of them. Poppy is very healthy, and eats proper diet with occasional snack of cheese, a cookie, or yogart raisins.

I have photo's of Vinny but I seemed to have placed my camera to computer transfer cord somewhere.

She is very pretty. Is she flighted? Even if she's clipped, I would be so nervous to take a new bird outdoors unrestrained! Heck, it scares me to bring Kiwi outside, and his likelihood of getting lost is very low because he's bonded to us, clipped, used to the outdoors and not much scares him. How'd she respond to fresh air?

Poppy is not clipped. She goes out nearly everyday in spring and summer with us for a couple hours. Or They go in screened gazebo if we are about in yard. She never tried to fly. It's the true bond with a bird that will keep them from flying away. My senni also is not clipped, never flew outside. She goes to store with me, goes for rides in truck. My Zon and Senni love bye bye rides in truck. The bond is true so I have no worries.

My Grey On the other hand has flown several hundred feet to a quarter mile and circled back and landed right next to me. I have to keep him clipped, but when he takes flight I say NO, and he circles back after several yards. Many people use restraints or flight cape...Those can and do injure a bird if not careful. Vinny has never been outside since I had her just a couple weeks now. But don't think she's seen the outside so have to be cautious.

Ah. I thought the picture was of the new BFA, not Poppy who you've had for a while. We bring Kiwi outside too, and he just loves it, but he is bonded and clipped (I trust the bond more than the clip). Curious if your zon and sennie are recall trained?
