now im worried :(

fargo was sitting on his cage and started moving his head up and down, back to front, like he was regurgitating.. but didnt bring up any food.. he did it 4 times :/ so if he didnt bring up food does that mean he isnt bonding?

im worried because how could he have bonded to me in only 3 weeks, so maybe he isnt showing love but instead has something in his throat ? :/ but he seems active and fine and i just gave him a mulberry which he drank and ate.. he was sitting on his cotton boing today for a few minutes chewing at it, but i dont think i saw him actually swallow the cotton..

i called the vet but he didnt answer his phone! :(

he ate fine today and is now chewing some wood on his gym !
just got off the phone from the breeder he said it just seems like he was 'overly excited' and all the signs pointed to that, and just said not to encourage it.. but could also be a baby behaviour...

he seems perfect now.. just gave me a scare!

Don't worry yourself, Tab. Sometimes they regurgitate out of pure excitement. Niko's done it serveral times, and he doesn't always succeed in hacking the stuff up all the way. He would go through the motion and I can smell it, but he doesn't go "all the way". When Niko does it I put him back in his cage and let him calm down. But even when he gets himself in a tizzy while in the cage, he sometimes goes through the regurgitating motions. :)

i was so freaked out, i thought he was choking on something.. im like a paranoid parent haha... i put him back in his cage and then he regurgitated stuff.. i was like more mess to clean up! ;)

so they will do it often when they get very happy ?

Fargo is still SO young. Was this the first time he's done it in front of you? Some Macs do it more than others, and it's not always caused by courtship. Some do it when overly excited, others don't. You'll learn to recognize when he does it for courtship, but is YEARS away. :)

The first time Niko unloaded some nuts on me I nearly gagged because I waited too long to put him in his cage, and it landed right on my chest.

yes first time he's done it, hence I was suprised!
why would he get so excited suddenly? he was just sitting on his cage haha

hahahahaha ewwwwwyy niko ;)

lol yeah no sorries. Some birds do it with every one, some takes month to do it if not years, and others do it once once in a blue moon. It's not that easy to regurgitate, so so give him some space lol he will get it down eventually

Yea I got really worried when my alex did.
They're actually trying to feed you!
Haha, mine does it every time I stir him up and get him excited.

Welcome to Macaw parenthood, Tab! :D
