hey guys
few days ago my bird(GCC) took a shower in my new house and as i was looking for the blow dryer i saw that his nostrils became red " lighter than red actually "
and it didn't disappear after few days
have anyone gone thru the same thing and what did you do

NOTES:
there is not any discharges
avian vets here in my country are really bad and kill alot of animals and birds
so that's why i'm looking into something i can do my self

During around the time that you notice this, has he done any rigorous activity as well? Often times when the birds nares are red with no discharge, it means they're hot. They can cool down just by breathing faster or through exposed areas like their feet or their nares. Also, double check if possible if there was no discharge especially after the bird sneezes.

A birds nostrils can appear red for a variety of reasons as some have mentioned. But another very common cause for red nostrils is stress. A bird who is stressed will have red nostrils/nares and may also appear tired or weak. This is why checking for discharge is so important as well as observing fecal droppings. If both of those are normal, I'd keep an eye on them and monitor their feeding/drinking habits. If you live in the areas that are affected by the heat wave we are having, make sure your bird has access to plenty of fresh water and is not in direct sunlight or a place where it can overheat.

Skittles sleeps in the bedroom, so about an hour before his bedtime I go in and turn the AC on until the temp matches the living room (where he is with me during the day) and then monitor it throughout the night to make sure it doesn't get too cold (drop below 67).

Birds will sneeze for many different reasons and not every sneeze is cause for worry. Some birds sneeze to 'get attention', like sunnies for example. They also sneeze to clear their nares. Occasional clear discharge from the nares is also normal, but repeated discharges OR any discolored discharge IS cause for concern.

I wonder if your bird is stressed because hes in new surroundings, you mentioned you're in a new house. It can take a bird anywhere from a few days to a few months to get accustomed to a new environment.
