Besides bursting in vitamins A, C, K and antioxidants, are there other benefits to red hot chili peppers for our conures? I heard it also helps prevent intestinal worms. Any truth in this?

Also is it bad if they eat too much of it? Same with jalapeño/habanero/banana peppers. Thanks!

Oh, I'm not sure. All I really knew about peppers were that as much as we might think 'ahh hot!' birds don't have the same kind of tastebuds as us and they can't taste things like we can. It's really cool :)

I'm not sure either but I think they can tell if the pepper is hot because I gave Sully a habanero and he immediately took a bath after he was done with it.

I have always used Hot chillies as a preventative. Although I also take a sample of my birds droppings to my Vets. They will check under their microscope to see if there is any evidence of worms. I figure it must work because my lot always come back clear.

I don't know, but jallipinos are part of my bird mix.
