Hello I have a 5 month parrot we rescued him when he was just a baby . He’s an indoor bird and does not go into a cage . His diet consists of nuts and seeds as well as vegetables and fruits . I make sure to change his water and food periodically. I have noticed a change in his feathers and am worried . I know it could be due to many things like his diet , sleep schedule, sunlight exposure, or even a genetic disease.
I have included pictures of him now , Has anyone seen something like this?

I am not sure if this is what is called stress bars or not.
PersonallyI don’t think it’s anything to worry about.
My Mexican red headed amazon looks similar.

Yes, those are stress bars and the feather condition is poor.

The lack of changing water and food daily is a serious problem as the water grow bacteria rapidly and depending on temperature seed can become spoiled within 24 hours. Seed should be kept in a seal container and refrigerated if not to be served within a week, frozen if not used within a month.

The feathers look like your Amazon needs a wetting misting at least several times a week.

Sleep, Dark, silent, ten to more hours per night.

I strongly recommend that you have your Amazon seen by an Avian Vet, ASAP! Like Tomorrow!!
