Red Factor African Grey

I hate how it says "exotic bird collector". The word collector should never be used with animals :(

With that said, holy crap! I've never seen that before. That's so cool looking!

It also says 'I've just purchased her'... but she's being sold again already - obviously this person bought her just to turn over for a quick profit. :(

Monica, thanks for posting the link. My family and I enjoyed listening to the videos and the extra information on that color mutation. I hope the female in the first post finds a fantastic pet home. At first I didn't think I liked that color much, because she's all mottled looking, with red and black feathers. The latest birds in the videos are more uniformly red colored. Color mutations are certainly interesting.

You're welcome! I don't understand the mutation because if it is pied, then these birds should be white, not red! Unless it really is a "factor" mutation.

I find them intriguing myself, but I prefer the "blue" african greys!

I was visiting a red-factor Grey at my local rescue just this weekend - a friendly female - friendly, as in happy to communicate, but not willing to step up.

I actually prefer the wild color, but have to admit the red ones are striking!

Red factor or red suffusion?

African greys with health problems or those who pluck may grow in red feathers over grey ones... however, this is no indication that the red feathers are a mutation like the red factors.

I think would miss the bright red tail of the blue/white-tail AGs but I rather liked the look of the all white one! The lutino Amazons in those links were amazing looking! Thanks again for the interesting links!

On mutation bird all the red spots are not symmetrical, so I prefer the original colorization.
