ready for the outings!

Awesome pictures. I enjoyed seeing all your different parrots out in the sunlight enjoying the day.

I really noticed your BTM Lars. He looked HUGE to me. I can see the mischievous macaw personality in those intelligent eyes of his. I wanted the BTM to be my next parrot and I would have the RFM and the BTM but it was not to be. Instead we are adopting a Noble macaw for the second parrot.

BTM will always hold a special place in my heart. I have enough on my plate with my "smaller" RFM and I am not getting any younger...at this point in my life having two very intelligent, mechanical, plotting, loving endangered species is just not in the cards for me. Both of their care and training would fall on me and I know my current limits. Valentino is more than enough parrot for me and to have that times ten would be too much for me.

How big is Lars? He looks larger than the BTM's I have seen. He is lovely and very healthy and happy looking.

Justin, I am so happy to see the good things you & your dad are doing with birds. Getting them out to the people to educate the people & socialize the birds. Fantastic! I have done so all my life, and have been known as "that crazy guy with all those birds". I am glad to see that since I cannot do that anymore, that you are picking up where I have left off. I wish you the wonderful lifetime experiences that I have known, and see that you are able to take this to the next level. Thank you for filling an old man's heart with hope for the Avian future!

Bills every posts you make touchs my heart in such a great way, I am glad I could make you happy and fulfill what you would have loved to keep doing! It means a lot and I can't even begin to thank you.

great shots jt. thanks for sharing. what kind of macaw is the one with the green head and back, blue wings, and yellow front?

I believe you are talking about boo and he is a hybrid macaw known as a bluffons macaw. He is a mix between a blue and gold and a buffons macaw:)

Hmm Lars hits the scales around 870-900g depending on the day and so on, he is quite large, but he is all male and a big alpha male at that he try's to rule the roost of macaws in my house and is really there leader!

sure was. Definitely saw the buffons in him, but I've never seen that hybrid before. He is gorgeous. What's the personality like on that guy?

He is very mild mannered and laid back not your typical macaw, he can be playful and he is very willing to learn. I teach him new stuff a lot but his attention span is pretty bad... He seems to be calmer then any milligold I have met and I believe it is because of buffons being a more mild mannered relative of the military's.

It's a shame buffons are so hard to find. They are incredible; although, I love the militaries as well.

Ehh the problem is people get a buffons and are not aware or they are and they make hybrids like boo or something else just to try and make a bigger buck and it isn't worth it... I'd love to see more buffons around to!
