Keoki - Red Bellied Parrot
Aloha all, it’s been a BUSY last two weeks. With the addition of our 3 month old RB Poi we named Keoki, Hawaiian for George. Now we have Gary (parakeet) and Keoki (red bellied parrot). I wanted to share a couple of pics before I had to go to work. Have a great Aloha day!!

He’s adorable 3 months old. Breeder is a troll, for lack of a better word. I am weaning him with no help except from information here and other sites. I do believe he is almost weaned, eating well. I agreed if anyone is wondering, but never again will I offer to wean a bird. I do know he is 3 almost 4 months old. But can’t get a hatch date from the breeder (again no help) I have asked 4 times. Here is another photo:

He is beautiful!!! Does he over preen his neck? That makes me worried if he does especially since you are still hand feeding, it's common to get crop infections, especially yeast overgrowth....might need a swab and culture... If it's just cuz he is a messy baby, then no worries. ;) Have he been checked by the vet yet? I did a little reading after your post , dies seem like the diet is a little tricker with these guys. Wish I could meet him!! So cute!

He is a messy boy, baby food sticking to feathers because he’s been spitting it out. Like drool. And I do try and wash it off. Making him a vet appointment next week, I just found an avian vet on the island. I am really looking forward to it, because I get no help from his breeder. I do try and weigh him everyday, but not sure how accurate this scale I have is. Tonight he was 110 grams His poop always looks great. But tonight he flew away from me (he is clipped) when I tried to feed him. And this morning he took very little. I do leave him with plenty to eat and he does eat. I want him to wean but I don’t want to force him.
