When i had my son, in the birth notes it says under the Complications section that there was Shoulder Dystocia... No wonder it hurt >.>

Random question/subject I know, but does anyone know if it is very likely that it'll happen again with this next one?

I can't give birth so I dunno how to answer that one....lol.... :D

They say that 1 in 8 chances it could happen again. Your doctor should be able to tell you if a ceasarian would be advised. I hope you do not experience it again. Scary!!

I can answer that one, as I'm a L&D nurse. If your baby is the same weight or bigger, then yes. Usually they follow the fetal growth via ultrasound and will have some idea as to how big the next baby is.

I had a shoulder dystocia when my second son was born weighing 10 pounds 2 ounces. They induced me earlier with my third and fourth babies to avoid that possibility.

Thanks Echo, I'll be sure to ask my Doc about it at my next appointment.

Ahh. Well He was 8 pounds. The one before him was 8.9. So I'm assuming the next one will be around that size too.

Ahh. That's a big baby O.O Congratulations though :D
