Lincoln has been, from what I can tell, randomly biting me lately. I have no idea what's inspiring the bites. I will try to put him down somewhere (i.e back in his cage, back on his perch, whatever whatever) and at first he will comply. He'll step up, all good. He'll put one foot on where I am trying to move him... then turn around and bites me. HARD.

I believe he is going through a bit of a hormonal phase right now, but last time he was hormonal, nothing like this happened. If I don't have him on me, or right next to me constantly he SHRIEKS.

I have NO idea what to do at this point. I'm trying to finish up school and I have a trip coming up that was scheduled long before this started, my family will still be here to take care of him but I don't know what to do if all he's gonna do is scream and bite them when they're trying to interact with him.

What I’ve found is that each of Parkers hormonal bouts are a little different. I always say he’s an aggressive hormone but minor bouts are usually characterized by a marked increase in...its hard to describe other than to say he becomes more intense. Much more deliberate behavior. Increased wandering, desperation for attention. Occasionally an increase in vocalizations like what you’ve seen.

His bouts can be any combination of biting and wandering, screaming and attention, biting and attention, biting alone, screaming and newspapers shredding, masturbation and biting, you get the picture. Different manifestations every time.

Awkward question, but how does a parrot "masturbate" ? Like I've had Lincoln try to mate with my hand and/or keyboard but?

Sorry to hear that Lincoln is being a little git. Unfortunately I have no experience of hormonal bouts yet, but I think Dexter is on the verge of 'becoming a man' so to speak, so it won't be long before we're in the same boat! Hopefully he will calm down soon and be back to his usual self.

Sometimes I can get him to just chill out on a perch next to my computer while I do my stuff but sometimes he decides to walk on the keyboard and get me killed (in games) xD

you should try competitive overwatch with a conure chasing after your mouse and chasing the lights around the keyboard. So many games thrown because he pressed a button

Owlet im going through the biting stuff to right now cept i don't let the bite happen.
the one foot step off and bite, i see it coming and avoid it and trick him with some food in the bowl, sometimes i just wiggle it around in his bowl and bam, he thinks something new has been added then hops right off. i go through a lot of peppers with him he loves em and will do about anything for one. speaking of food i have yet to find anything he wont eat. he hates being put in his cage, so most of the time i just wait till i find him in it and close it when i don't want him out wondering around. he does like to sit and watch me play a golf game i play he enjoys hearing the wildlife on the game and hops on the keyboard every now and again and takes a shot, lol i do have him saying lets play golf. Max will be 2 soon so im looking for it to start to get interesting.

I stopped playing heroes of the storm when Timneh is on my shoulder because Timneh learned how to turn off my monitor and then just destroyed my keyboard all together. Well played Timneh well played.
