You should get a conure little brother for him! Love my boys.

Its still right up there getting a Conure. I know 2 places that rear very beautiful and healthy babies. Im sure if i went to see them and one liked me he would be off to the vets and then home with me. I think im gonna let me and the bird feel it out whatever it is after seing some x

One specialises in just Green Cheeks but they get all these unique colour mutations, there must be like 20. I like the blue pineapples alot and theres one variation called ghost, its white and light blue, stunning and the other person rears GCC, Jendays, Nandays, Suns and i think a few more and other types of Parrots. He runs a pet shop but him and his family breed all the birds and hand rear them. If i do get one ill try get some pictures as im sensing baby fever haha x

Hi guys. I have a few questions i could use some help with.

1. I want to get a harness for Xander but im not experienced with them. I want to be able to take him outside often now for a walk with me and him be able to fly around outside alittle. Do they make harnesses to cater for flying? and how much outside time can he have? There is a park nearby so i was also hoping to maybe recall train him outside on the harness also.

2. He eats Zupreem natural pellets but i keep reading Harrisons are way healthier. Is that true? Ive ordered him some to try along with his usual food.

3. Are the Nutriberries healthy? I got some garden veggie complete diet ones and he loves them. Just a way to get more veggie goodness into him as he just wont eat many veggies at all. Are there any veggie alternatives i could get for him? Thankyou x

1) Well, the Aviator Harness comes with maybe 3-5 feet of line. Definitely not enough for flight unless you plan to do A LOT of running. Lol! But a lot of people use those lightweight retractable dog leash lines to extend the harness enough for flight. Some birds learn the boundary limits of the line's range and get a kick out of flying out in a 50 or so foot diameter circle.

2) My birds are ekkies, so I don't really deal with pellets anymore. But by reputation, people tend to say that Harrisons are the healthier choice. (Though for those who do feed pellets to their ekkies, Harrison's would NOT be the best choice.)

3) I wouldn't recommend Nutriberries as a staple diet item. They are, however, good as treats. I'd suggest that you keep throwing varieties of veggies at him. Persistence will win out. Some birds are just more stubborn than others.

Thanks dude. Ill look at some longer lines then because I want him to have a good high fly around if that's what he desires to give him more sense of freedom and get him outside often. Do you know of any safe lines he wont chew through? I know little on the subject of harnesses ect.

With the Nutriberries I just give him 3-4 a day for variety. He likes making a mess with them and then likes to go foraging for the bits he drops so gives him something extra to do he enjoys x

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience yet with the longer lines. My harnessed trained ekkie refuses to fly, and my expert flier ekkie refuses to be harness trained. They obviously share a demented sense of humor. Lol!

Lol funny :) Xander has his quirks too. I guess ill have to start him small anyway so i can get a longer line when he has his recall perfected ect x
