I found this little sweetheart at Petco. She must have been completely overlooked because she was in a cage that had been picked through. All that were left were green yellow mixes. She was the only one with clearwings then I noticed the rainbowing of her torso.
From what I know a true rainbow has clearwings, so I'm very happy with my find

I noticed the maturing that's typical of budgies in aviaries. She has baby eyes but her baby bars are receding.
I'm very happy with here and so are my other two budgies.

What a pretty little budgie. Congrats.:)

She appears to be a Yellowface Type II with Goldenface, clearwing blue. Looks like she might be carrying something else, as well. Gorgeous little hen!

Cute bird! I love that first picture! Congratulations! It's good that she went to a good home...I don't think people buy birds that often at the big pet shops like PetCo, PetSmart, etc. It seems like they get overlooked a lot, and all the birds I've seen there were mature and had all lost their black bars. People tend to look at the birds, but never get one. So you never know how long they've been there. At least they're with the other birds to keep them company, but it still seems sad to me. One time, I saw a finch at PetSmart that was by itself, and that seemed really sad. I know you can't tame finches, and so they don't really care about human companionship. So they NEED to be with other finches. That poor little finch must have been so lonely. I don't know why they had him by himself like that. Maybe they had quarantined him or something. I hope that's what it was, and they knew better than to keep him by himself.

It's great that you've given this bird a good home where she'll be loved and well taken care of. :)

Finches can be tamed... and some have even learned to talk human words... typically not much, but well.... they can.

Really? :11: I always thought they were too nervous and flighty to be tamed, and I've always read that you couldn't tame them. They seem like such crazy tiny birds. They're very cute, but crazy. I've never heard of anyone being able to tame one...oh man, that would be so cool if I could hold and pet a finch. :D

Look up on Youtube for tamed finches... there should be at least one or two videos on there of 'talking' finches, too.... although the best talker would probably go to Chibi, one that lives in Japan.

She is beautiful!
