Parrots
Monte..Scarlet macaw, Seminole...yellow napped amazon, Starburst... sun conure...Rain, cinnamon green cheek.
She was eating some bread crust with me, and I went to help my son on a video game and then all of a sudden she was flopping around and flapping her wings madly... I got ahold of her and kept her from hurting herself.... then it subsided... bit she was disoriented and didn't have any balance.... but she wanted me to hold her.... so I did....

Now I can't get ahold of the vet

Oh NO!!! that is horrible... so sorry! I hope all will be ok

Keep an eye on her and make sure she hasn't lost any weight. She may require blood work to ensure she's healthy. Vetri-DMG may be recommended, seizure medication if it becomes a constant thing.

I hope she's ok until you can get her seen!

She's been trembling a lot... like nervousness.. but she's done that since we got her.... and she has bald patches under her wings.... but she doesn't have mites.. man I hate this.

Calcium levels..... bad heart.... really hope it's nothing major!

Seems like its a common thing with green cheeks..... I googled it.. wth? She's a cinnamon if it matters.......

So advice for care?? Other than watching her closely....

Infections can also cause a seizure. Get to the vet as soon as you can tomorrow.

Like all of the stories I have found..she was acting strange for a bit after this...then she straightened out.. now I don't know what to do...she seems to want to go to bed....but I'm afraid to let her out of my sight....

As k said before..I hate this...

Put her to bed with a blanket or pillow on the bottom of the cage so if she does fall there is a less chance of hurting her self. As I said please vet her in case a infection is the cause of this..

I have every intention of getting her to the vet .... but I can't get ahold of him...she's in her cage but she's restless....shes flapping her wings and climbing everywhere...racking her beak across the bars...

I wonder if she doesn't sleep much at night??? When we got her, she had been neglected...she was malnourished...she has always had some bad looking feathers. ..but didn't pluck...but is missing a single feather on her head and has a bald spot because of it...

She doesn't show signs of illness...but I'm sewing that green cheeks are different than other birds....this is gonna be a long night..

Thanx for all of the advice and well wishes everybody...I'll keep you informed....I hope she's going to be OK...to the vet first thing in the morning...

She's still going ...its 2:50 am here...and she's grinding her beak a lot...??? Way more than I've ever noticed her doing it before.....she hasn't had anymore seizures... thank god...but we moved her cage into our room for the night....I wanted to be able to monitor her....why all of the beak grinding... ??? Anyhow...the vets office can't open soon enough...

Thanks for the update!

No problem... a I'm doing is sitting up next to her cage listening to every little noise that comes from it...worried sick...

Sending prayers and hugs to you both! You must be so worried - hopefully, all will be well in the morning. Stay strong, Rain!

Well .... so far there hasn't been any more seizures... she's sleeping in her cage right next to our bed...I'm watching and listening for anything as well....poor thing... she's not even 2 yrs old and has been through so much....trying to stay positive.... but that's hard to do...

Just hang in there! Sending prayers!

stay strong, time moves very slowly when your bird is not right.
sending HUGS your way, hopefully it's nothing serious.
