We get temps in the upper 90's too and I know of other people who raise angoras outside in our area. This is my first year raising the angoras:) Just have to keep them in the shade with plenty of fresh water and a frozen bottle of water or cold tile. Last summer when it got that hot I was worried about my chinchillas(in the house)we don't run the AC. I had tiles that I stuck in the freezer and then would wrap them in a towel for the chinchillas to lay on to cool down.

OMG, what adorable bunnies!!!!!!!!!!! there is nothing cuter than a baby bunny. I used to have 6 rabbits, I love them. I had a dutch, several neatherland dwarfs, and a himalayan. One thing about rabbits, they are a nice, QUIET pet! unlike, *ahem* the ones I have now. :54:

This is Queen Anne before and after her hair cut yesterday. Anyone interested in 4" long angora fiber? We have 18 grams for $10 (buyer pays shipping)

Jeez, I thought she was pregnant in the first picture! Looks like the rabbit version of a blowfish.
What happened to her eye?

Nope, not pregnant, just ready for a haircut:) They need their fiber harvested about every 12 weeks or so.

She is a REW (red eyed white) English Angora, that's why her eyes are red.............is that what you meant? She did have some matter built up there again that we cleaned off during her grooming/haircut yesterday (before the picture) Angoras need every other day grooming when their fiber is that long and she had some fiber that was tickling her eye causing it to weep, (which we trimmed as soon as we noticed it) Perhaps that showed up in the picture? Anyway, Queen Anne is a little sweetheart, LOVES to be brushed and groomed!

Oh my gosh, your bunnies are precious! I can't believe how big she was before her haircut!

Thanks Terry! I know, she's like half the size she was!

I wish I looked that much thinner with a haircut!

Lol!!!!!!!!

Wow, so their fibre grows fairly quick then huh?

How long does it take to groom one of them when their fibres are that long?

I meant the red cross-like thing below her eye, or is that what you were referring to? The red eyes I figured was due to the camera itself, but is that natural?

Ahh, gotcha! That is where the matter was, we picked it off and washed it up and what you're seeing is pink skin I think ;)

If you groom them every other day it only takes a few minutes, it's when people don't groom them that they get tiny little mats next to the skin which are little buggers to get out, we recently acquired an EA doe who had 5 hotspots all over her body. Poor thing, she's kind of ornery but can you blame her? We're treating her and they are clearing up nicely but so far her mood hasn't improved....:D
