Timneh African Grey "Chaka Khan", Congo African Grey "Buddy", Sun Conure "Sunny", Grey cheek parakeets "Peeps," "Groucho", "Harpo and Tweekie" (paired) and Indian ringneck "Gandhi."
I have a male Congo and female Timneh. Is it possible to let them interact, become friends, or will they fight each other? Do Congos and Timnehs get along in the wild?

CAG's and TAG's are from different regions of Africa so as far as I know they are not together in the wild. Will lthey get anong??? Each bird is different just as people are. You would not get along with all the people you meet so it is the same for birds. If they do bond they mal be more into eachother than you and may mate.

It is true that they may bond & mate. But, you can discourage that by supervised time together. They also may not like each other. Watch them carefully, and if you see any aggression, or courting, seperate them. Make sure you do not provide any nesting opportunity or stimulation. They are both greys, though different subspecies. So, they can bond and mate. But, I've seen several greys in the same aviary, both sexes, and without nesting materials, there was no mating. But, better safe than sorry. Watch them!

Wow, I had no idea that Congos and Timneh could mate! I assumed they could not. Has anyone ever seen the chick of a Congo and Timneh? What do they look like? I'm surprised there is not a market for them, as there is for conures who mate with other subspecies i.e. sun and jendays produce nandays I believe.

Actually Suns and Jendays produce Sundays (no I'm not kidding, lol!). Nandays are another species, but can also mate with Suns and Jendays. I even recently learned that Nandays, Suns and Jendays may be able to even mate with Blue Crowns.

Heck, my amazon and Grey want to mate! I don't think they can, or at least i hope not!

I Have a Timneh Grey, he is fabulous! He is so loyal & kind. He is small enough & happy to travel in the car with me, simply sits on my shoulder and goes everywhere with me.:D
