So Mackey is going to be joining the family this afternoon!! I'm so excited.

I want to get some fresh fruits and such but I thought I would see what your guys' amazons like most

my umbrella loves snap peas and bananas most... do amazons like those as well?

he's a blue fronted amazon ^_^ a bit older so im going to ask the owner if she knows what he likes most too

My Amazon hates fruits but loves veggies. He loves baby carrots, sweet potatoes & brocolli & sweet peppers. He's the opposite of my macaws.

They are all individuals and preferences change all the time. My amazon will eat just about anything you put in his dish, but all time favorites seem to be broccoli, cherries, pomegranates, bananas and pineapple.

How exciting to be bringing home a new friend!

oh yes!! i am so thrilled to have him come home today :D

im equally excited to see what his preferences are for foods as well ^_^

Easier to say what he doesn't like. Pasta, chips of any kind, strawberries, peas. That's about it anything else Salty eats with gusto.

The owners "changed their mind" last minute... I am very seriously bummed out...

I made the mistake of checking classified listings to help myself feel better and there's a beautiful Hyacinth Macaw with cage and toys and everything for $200.....

Let me guess, you wire them the money (probably to Camaroon) and they'll even ship him to you for free right:blue::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

So sorry things didn't work out with the amazon. The right bird is still out there, this one evidently wasn't him. Don't give up looking though, lots and lots of zons out there still needing good homes!

As well implied above, there are tons fakers out there. In some cases, its just plain DANGEROUS!

Stop! If is sounds to good to be true, IT IS!

The best source for a Parrot is your Avian Vet! They can provide you names of people they trust! Or, provide your name to a Client that needs to rehome their Parrot.

There's no Hy macaw for $200. Scam alert. There are lots of Amazons in rescues. Have you tried Petfinder? My zon was my 1st bird I got when the owner died & he is the love of my life. I'm sorry this fell through.
