question about lilac crown amazon

My lilac crowned amazon is now 40 years old, and she is a sweet little bird, but I think I've heard her talk exactly once...

She said hello.

And that's it.

My red lored talks some, but not like my BFA, Nape, and DYH did.

The best talkers would be the napes, blue fronts, and dyh's

In all actuality, never get a bird with the expectation that he/she will talk.

And FWIW, Birdman is right, Amazons (particularly Napes) are THE most likely to talk, and yes, even over African Greys. Now Amazons' speech can never rival that of a grey, nor will they speak as clearly, but they ARE the most likely to pick up words.

Well,

My blue front talked as much, or more than my CAG does, and was twice as goofy...

My nape was a good talker. My red lored is a good talker. Not on the level of my CAG.

My DYH was an exceptional talker... also on the level of my CAG, just watch out for territorialism and mood swings during breeding season, which is FIVE MONTHS out of the year...
