Question about feeding (5 lb lasting, freezer/fridge, mixing pellets etc)

Okay so I got my African Grey (which I'm tempted to name Mr. Pigeon because he sorta looks like one haha) about 6 days ago. 5 months old, sometimes he adores hanging out with me, sometimes he rather hide in his cage than get near me :(

So to the questions:

1. So based on the bag, which I don't see, but I'm guessing it's about the feeding size of an amazon which is 3 tbs or 30g. That's 2270 divide 30 which means a 5 lb bag will last 2 months? Trying to see how much money I need to save up.

How much do your grey parrot eat?

2. Is it okay to give him more should he ask for it? Or should I just stick with the recommended?

3. Is it wise to mix pellets up? I bought Roudybush and Fruit Loops (Zupreem Fruity). Just a small bag, it still seems like he prefer Harrison. I originally bought this on the first day because I saw him rather reluctant to eat his food. But now, I do it to give him a bit of variety. Harrison will still be 80-90% of what he eats. Is what I'm doing okay?

4. I'm a bit concerned about the whole 6 week after opening. Does it literally get bad that fast or are they playing really safe? Is 80F room temperature too hot to store this safely? I don't have freezer space for so much bird food, so the bottom fridge is my only option, think it'll be enough to preserve it for about two months or so? I also read that Roudybush doesn't need to be refrigerated and it seems the same with Zupreem so I'm guessing it's only the Harrison that I have to worry about and I can keep the other one around for 2-3 months just fine?

I use Roudybush, small pellets for my Perjo. 10lb bag unopened purchased 4 days ago, good till 4/18 according to the manufacturer. The first bag I bought was back in April and it still has some food left in it, I do mix in some California blend from time to time, that surely impacted how long my first has lasted.

I use a standard ice cream scoop to scoop the food, 15-17g is what a typical scoop of pellets weigh. I give her 2.5-3 scoops, roughly 50-54g at the start of the day. She usually eats most of it, with the typical remnants of crushed pellets she pulverized.

MY grey Joey will not eat pellets all he wants to eat is seeds and broccoli and cauliflower every thing else he tosses im going to start crushing some pellets over is vegies to see if that works I took him to the vet Saturday and they said he only weighs 480gm he a little thin but I don't know how to fatten him up. If any one has so good advice for me Please HELP...
Thank you TONYA

My parrot eats Harrison's and has been doing so for 7 years. I open the bag and then keep it in the fridge. A bag for me lasts over 3 months. I get the big bag, of course. It's way more cost effective. My parrot used to eat the fruity ones that smelled delicious to me, but as soon as I started with Harrison's he never went back to that artificially flavored stuff. Not to mention, watching his poop was like seeing a rainbow when eating the zupreem food. Some days he'd like the orange ones more and would eat only those and his poop would reflect it. The same for the reds and other colors. Haha.

Wow 3 months for one bag? I thought it would only last about a month or a month and a half.

Separate question:

I'm trying to use seeds as a way to reward my parrot for doing something right. He has an issue with eating fresh greens I buy in the little bags in the frozen aisle, would it be a good idea to sprinkle some smaller seeds onto the vegetables to make it more appealing?

I mainly use the bigger seeds like sunflower seeds as reward pieces but still unsure how to use the tiny seeds since atm he doesn't seem to care for them as much.

My parrots loves seeds. I give them to him about once a month. They're full of fat. My parrot prefers some vegetables as raw and others as steamed. Broccoli steamed is his favorite. Green beans raw. Try different ones, and always fresh. Frozen are good in the case of an emergency, but fresh I believe is better for them. I base this on nothing! It just seems healthier and more natural. Haha.

As a treat my parrot gets orange juice or fresh fruits. He loves fruit and juice (100% with no added sugar, of course).

Seeds are good as a treat, but not as a daily thing. Not for cags at least.
