All the way from Hungary?!? Wow! You don't play! Lol!

Haha, yeah looking back I donā€™t know how it got to this either lol. My first preference would have been driving distance!

When I decided on researching deeper into my ā€œdreamā€ breeds and then it was green light for the Thai Ridgeback, I talked to a couple breeders here who told me no pups were available now (from reputable breeders) in the US, and that some ā€˜goodā€™ dogs of this breed were coming out of Eastern Europe now. Unlike most domestic dogs, theyā€™re a primitive breeed and only come into heat once a year, usually in the fall, so makes them even more hard to find. The timing was perfect :). Must be meant to be?

Surprisingly, although champion bloodlines, rareness doesnā€™t figure into price. This breeder sells at a *very* reasonable price. Less than many popular purebreds. The shipping is the bad part though. Not to mention my customs agent isnā€™t the sharpest... crossing fingers all will go well next Tuesday!

So yeah... Heā€™s Hungarian :D. His name isnā€™t though. It will be revealed when he gets here!

My little red mutt has Ridgeback blood in her... we did the DNA test (only 50 bucks) and it showed that. A cool thing: Ridgebakcs have NO ODOR, or so I read, and neither does my dog. Smells like a stuffed animal or pillow. Amazing. People think I must wash her every day!

Wow Gail, thatā€™s so cool that you did the dog breed DNA test! Itā€™s Pinky, right? What other breeds did it say? Did it say Italian Greyhound? I think itā€™s fascinating that they can do that. Same with the 23andme or ancestry thing for humans.

Mine is a Thai Ridgeback, not a Rhodesian Ridgeback :). Iā€™ve heard the same thing though. That theyā€™re a breed without doggie odor. Thatā€™s good... I like ā€œcleanā€ animals ;). The hair is extremely short; shorter than normal short dog hair, and heā€™s almost hairless on some parts. They told me I should get dog clothes for the winter lol. Even though it doesnā€™t get super cold here, they donā€™t have enough hair for warmth. A large dog with clothes on haha.
