pumpkin stems as toys?

does anyone know if pumpkin stems are safe to give parrots for a natural toy part? my husband is making some pumpkin pie from scratch with a ginormous pumpkin (birds are getting the seeds from the haul, since none of them like fresh pumpkin....) but can they have stems for toys? my husband asked if i wanted it, but we wanted to check first to make sure it's a safe option, after being baked of course.


none of this pumpkin is going to waste haha even the cats are getting some of the pumpkin, our one cat Destiny loves pumpkin. i wish our birds did... alas, they get the seeds for foraging lol
