Simply beautiful birds. I love the different colors of the male and female. You should post these pictures with caution because it makes the heart run out and buy these beautiful blessings, Peace be to you.

A familiar sight!

Mango is adorable! How old is he?
I got both of mine when they were no longer babies (Joey was about to turn 3 and Pixel was 5) and I'm a little sad I didn't get to see them with dark baby eyes :)

He will be 9 months on Dec 15. Im excited for the orange eyes, I would love to see your male's face. Mango still has orange on his head. I absolutely love him, he just so much fun! I would take 10 more in a hear beat! No females for me though, I dont want to deal with babies!

Here are two of my favorite pictures of him - in the second one he had just turned 5 :)

Oh my goodness what a face! He looks so much like my Mango! The eyes are so striking, Mango's definitely have a lot of brightening to do. I was thinking maybe Mango was getting a little chunky, but I see your birds are also full bodied. I suspect they are more sturdy than some of the other species. He was under-weight when he went to the vet, so I was worried I had over done it a little.

They are stocky birds. Vet has not decreed any of mine overweight (and their weight does seem on par with was has been deemed "normal") and they have quite a bit of muscle mass :)

Love your poi blog! Do you clip wings? Mango is all attitude and he absolutely hates doing as he is told. He wont come when called despite our best efforts. He loves to refuse to do things. His latest issue has been stepping up for Dave. He will put his finger out, and Mango will put one foot on his finger and then seemingly change his mind and use it to scratch his head instead. As hilarious as this is, I do worry about him getting super independent and finding his way to somewhere I cant get him. I have no doubt if he knew I wanted him he would flat out refuse. He would find my attempts to get him very amusing indeed. I want to let him fly, but I also want to keep him safe.

No, I let them keep their flight feathers.
In fact, when I first got Joey he had been clipped by his previous owner but I decided to let his flights grow in and it was the best decision I could make. His first few weeks/months here he was nervous and really unpredictable and lacked confidence. The moment he regained his flight that changed for the better.
