Hi, I've been searching all over the web trying to figure out if ponderosa pine is safe to use for bird branches or not, and I haven't reall found any results... All I found was one article where they didn't use it due to the pitch.
I'm moving to a property that has almost exclusively ponderosa pines on it, and until I get some fruit tree's planted, that's all there is.
I can always buy wood to use, but I was hoping to be able to make toys at home due to a very tight budget...
Does anyone have any experience here? Any comments at all will be very helpful!
Thank you all in advance:04:

I could be wrong but pine is pine. And pine is a safe soft wood. If you're taking it from a branch, make sure you clean and disinfect it for any fungus or bugs that may be on/in it. Also, I'd let it dry out really good too. Pine sap is very sticky and very hard to clean up/off.
