How many of you would be mad if a family member came into your home and stole a photo you had told them they couldnt have a copy of ?

if it was a embaressing photo, i'd just brace myself for the shame to follow

not sure why i would not copy a pic for a family member,
not sure if they would steal it, as thats a pretty bad thing!
as it would mean i don't get mad, just disapointed that i will from then on have nothing to do with them

That's hard to say, post a the pic and lets see what were talking about.:)

But on a serious note, this violates a trust that you have with the family member. It would take a long time for me to allow that trust to be formed again.

I would be upset. I would think of it as a violation of my privacy

I would be furious. First that they thought it was ok to break into my home and second that they thought it was ok to take something of value I'd already denied them. But I also sell some of my photographs and have had family members just expect me to send them the full res files so they can print as many copies as they want. To them, it's no big deal, it's just files, not actual photographs. But I get 50.00 a print, so to me, that's a lot of money they're taking from me.

It depends on the whole story as to how upset I would be. Who it was, why they stole it, what it was a picture of, how often they come to the house, the relationship with the person.

in general, though, I'd probably be ticked.

I don't know, I think that if they wanted it that bad I would have made a copy for them~ was this a picture you had on display or something that was "hidden"? That would make a difference! Were you home when they came and took the picture? I would be upset if they entered ,my home without permission

I would be mad. Like lizardsmells said I would be upset they came into my house. If you told them no already you have your reasons and they should repsect that. I have learned the hard way that family would do you wrong before a stranger sometimes.

It was a photo of my son with a celebrity at an event they were invited to but decided to spend the time with their other grandchild instead of mine. They were at my home for a dinner, asked for the photo ( it was in my bedroom, which the door was closed to ) and I told them NO, they could have taken their own if they had attended the event as invited. They only visit once a year at christmas but live 6 miles from our home, but drive an hour one way to visit the other grandchild quite frequently. I noticed the photo missing the next day, it was the only copy of the photo as it was taken by someone else, so I dont even have a negative for it. I found out they had it when we visited their home for Mother's day, and it sat on their mantle still in my frame.

I would be furious! They stole it from you~ Whether this was your parents or your spouses' I hope you took it back!

Take it back. Make a copy, give it to them and both of you stop being petty. It's not worth it.
