Hi frnds, em new to this forum.. Cuz my chikku alexandrine parrot suddenly not active.. I thinks he s having diarrhea.. Cud any one pls me.. I don't ve avian in my state.. Normal vet oly available.. What should I do now.

If a standard vet is all you have, please try them out as fast as you can...
Or the breeder or shop where you got your bird...
This sounds really dire, and you need extra, expert help as soon as possible!
I'm so scared, for your bird AND you...

Welcome, sorry to hear Chikku is not well. An ordinary vet with some bird experience is better than none. Any zoos or falconry clubs in the area?

Only normal vet is available here.. Shud I take him to tat vet. Or else is there any antibiotics..

Take him to the general vet, they may be able to prescribe the correct antibiotic.

Just providing antibiotics will not be helpful as you need to know what antibiotics or other medication(s) you should provide and most importantly, how much, how often and for how long. Please take you Parrot to the local Vet.

Ordinary vets in India can kill your bird by drug overdose. They are often not qualified to deal with birds that are not poultry.
Please try to get in video conference from a qualified avian veterinarian from India or outside. There are hardly any in India but you may find them in your nearest zoo or rescue shelter.

cheers

A very good point. Many non-avian vets will attempt diagnosis and treatment by a difficult process of elimination. It may take several attempts to prescribe, and yes, dosage is critical.

Best course of action is to find a vet willing to correspond with an avian specialist. Not easy for sure, but worth the effort.

Is anyone know avian vet.. Pls let me know.. Cuz my chikku is still in same condition, nd nw started to vomit from yesterday ..
Pls suggest me food to feed him.. Just today I took him to normal vet.. He gave an antibiotics nd vitamin drops..

I found three avian vets listed in Chennai, India:

Dr. karuna karan - Association of Avian Veterinarians
Dr Palanivelrajan Muthusami - Association of Avian Veterinarians
Dr Kadirvelu Senthilkumar - Association of Avian Veterinarians

If you'd like to do another search: Association of Avian Veterinarians

I could not find reliable references to a drug "Enrosel." I would highly recommend you try to take Chikku to an avian vet. If travel is not possible, perhaps one of the listed vets can give help by phone or Skype? Or by working with a local vet?

Fantastic! Having an avian vet assess Chikku may make all the difference. Please update when you are able after the appointment!
