Pls help :d

NEVER FEED FROM YOUR MOUTH. I don't know if any of you have seen my post on Mina my U2 being sick. That is exactly what I did feed her from my mouth and almost killed her. Please please never do this. They must even have their own utensils. Just let your baby BG take time and don't rush him. My avian vet said soak pellets in organic juice. Look in baby food isle. Are you feeding off a spoon? I just changed Mina to a spoon (human plastic baby). After three days she ran away from me. She weaned herself. So long story short learn from my mistake. Don't force wean them. But if you make their formula different and offer pellets nuts and fruits they may decide to Change. In my case I changed to a spoon and added organic baby food fruit to the formula. Hahaha she hated it and decided pellets and fruit were better.

First, I am going to infer that you do not live in the states, so I don't know if pellets are readily available to you...

But I agree with everyone else. Pellets soaked in apple juice usually is a good place to start...

Macaws wean when they wean. The sooner you introduce new foods the better it usually is, but try hand feeding pellets, rice, beans, small bits of chicken and fish, nuts, veggies, etc. instead of formula, and see if he starts taking it. Then gradually reduce the amount of formula...

Is he plucking? Does he have bald patches?! If not, then it's probably just a normal molt...

I've seen Hys that have taken longer than a year to wean... so, they wean when they wean.

The main concern I would have would be testing him for something like macaw wasting disease, but... I wouldn't overreact just yet.
