Since I'm new here, I thought I'd introduce my gang. I have 4 rescued macaws.

The first to arrive was Shasta, a Catalina macaw who was given up when her previous owner died and the family didn't want her. She is a doll.

Next to arrive were Scarlett, a Scarlett, and Murphy, a blue and gold. They were given up together by their former owner who was building a new house and didn't want parrots messing it up. Scarlett is a sweetie, but Murphy is more difficult. I think he really missed his former owner for a long time after arriving here.

The newest member of the gang is Spencer, a Green wing. I adore this bird! Such a good boy! He was given up because the former owner "didn't have time" anymore. Sadly, when I went to the former home to pick him up, he was in a completely bare cage. The ONLY thing in the cage was an old 8 inch cement perch. The owners said they stopped giving him toys because he just destroyed them. Well, now Spencer has so many toys that he can't decide what to play with next!

Yea, I was pretty shocked when I heard the "no toys" reason. I also should have mentioned, they also fed him only seed. Thankfully, he immediately took to a wide variety of yummy foods that are more appropriate for him. I'm very pleased that he remained such a good guy given his less-than-ideal circumstances before.

I'm glad you were there to take these beautiful birdies! I adore macaws and always play with them when I go to the bird store. My guys keep me in check. I can't even imagine having these big guys in my house. (I'd love it! I don't think my "anti-bird" friends and family would come over again after seeing the size of the macaws. Most of them cringe in fear if my overly friendly, loves everybody budgie flies over to them.)

Poor baby had no toys :( that broke my heart when I read that. Obviously they weren't fit to have him if they felt he didn't need toys and fed him only seed. I wish people would do research before taking on the responsibility of another life.

Georgeous Birds!!! Great pictures too, nice quality camera ; )

Wow what a gorgeous group..look to be mischievous...hehe
