please help mcaw cut his hand

Yayy!

Can you post more pictures of him with his cast? I've never seen a bird with a cast before! Looks cute, haha. I wonder what they made it out of, that will stay on a parrot.

ill have to get ya a better one tomorrow he is sleepin right now.ya i was pretty surprised when he brought him back in with a lil cast.its more like a wrap tho.he started chewing on it immediately but its still on there good.

I am so glad that you did this for your bird and that the experience was a good one. Some people do have to drive long distances to see the avian vets. I drive about 1 hr. Hope the healing goes well. Protein intake helps heal so chicken would be a good choice to feed the bird.

I had a feeling this needed anti biotics. Thank you for taking him in to the vet and getting everything squared away. If your bird doesn't like chicken, beans are also a good source of protein. Don't feed hamburger though. No matter how well done, it can still contain trace amounts of E. Coli that won't affect people, but can kill birds. Remember, even a large macaw is only about half the weight of a newborn human baby.

glad he's ok looks like the cast will keep him amused for awhile :)
