Hello, my name is Brandon and I am new to this forum. My 1 1/2 year old Blue & Gold Macaw "Cali" got outside yesterday (4/3/11) around 12noon in Sacramento CA. He is very friendly and was last seen around Shell Gas Station H St. @ 29th st. in Midtown Sacramento. If you have any information please contact me by email (i will more than gladly call you if you leave a number). He is a loved family pet so of course we will reward anyone who leads us to him, no questions asked.

Thank you
Brandon

Thank you all for your support. I feel we are getting closer to finding the Man who drove off in his truck with Cali. Just waiting on a call to find out the name of the company truck he was in.

Although I sympathise with you, and hope nothing more than for you to find your missing parrot, I did notice the picture you have up seems to be a your Cali, outside, full flight feathers? And no harness or anything. I just can't stress enough to anyone how dangerous that is. I am not trying to be rude, and I can tell that you really love your parrot, I just had to point that out for maybe people in the future thinking thier parrot will stay by them while outside. Because they won't.

Thanks for sympathy and your opinion, but I don't believe you are right. keeping a bird completely captive is easier, but the bond is not quite the same... In my opinion.

here are some links to Cali in full flight.

This was an old video, he has actually gotten much better at flying.

And how did your bird happen to go missing?

I've told all my friends here in California. We'll keep a look out. I told them her name was Cali and if they see her to approach carefully and try to get her to step up. We're all on the look out for you. My prayers and thoughts are with you

I have friends that live in your area and up in the general Nor Cal area. I will let them know. I will post on my reptile forum and my facebook.

Any more information you can provide will help as well.

Sending good thoughts to you in hopes Cali returns home.

GOOD NEWS! Cali has returned home! It's been a long 4 days, I will post the whole story tomorrow. Thank you all for your support!
Big Love!

Thank God! I'm so glad she is home! Make sure she gets a vet check up to see if her venture to the outdoors didnt do too much harm to her. I'm so happy for you. Still in my thoughts and prayers.

The official Cali Returns story:

After 4 days of searching, Cali has returned home. It was quite the experience, I feel that @[876990354:Samantha] and I are both better detectives now that we solved this case. So it turns out that changing a Craigslist add form "LOST" to "STOLEN" and adding in the key word "POLICE" will scare almost any crackhead out of the bush, because after Samantha did that, we got a call from the wife of the man we were trying to track down. At first she tried lying to us saying she had come to midtown to bring her hubby lunch and Cali flew in to her van (LIE!) and then flew out of the van into a tree (LIE) and that was the last she saw of the bird (LIE). Knowing that this story was different that the eye witnesses told us, we had a good idea that she was lying to us. We proceeded to grill her with many questions, got her "name" which I promised I wouldn't say for her safety (i ill explain this in a few), by the way she didn't give us her full name at first and it was plain as day that she was trying to protect her hubby. So after grilling her for 10-15 min the conversation ended. We new something was up, but we didn't know what we should do. As were talking about it, she called back, crying, saying the man whole stole the bird is a crackhead, that she was afraid of him and he was standing next to her while she was on the phone telling her what to say. She was apologetic and told us she would go to the house where Cali was being held, break in and bring him to us. That is exactly what she did and now he is home. Moral of the story, DONT DO CRACK, IT MAKES YOU DO SOME REALLY STUPID ****!

Oh my ! Poor Cali! I'm so happy she is in your safe arms now. I cant believe some people would find a bird and try to keep it. Then again I can....That is so horrible!

I can't believe that happened! Wow.... I am so glad you found her!! What a story though... what are the chances! Im glad that the lady did the right thing.
