Are playing card safe?

I have seen toys made with them, so I thought they were safe, even made some for my tiels last week, they love it! but someone on Facebook got a message that they are not safe!

I have removed them

Are they safe?

Also, what about puzzles, are they safe?
I haven't used them

I've seen the cute toys made from playing cards, they are tempting but I would worry about the ink and the protective coating on the cards. Another worry, especially with smaller beaks is the chance the may ingest enough of the chewed cards to make them sick. Puzzle pieces would cause the same concerns.

Yeah, I didn't saw them ingest the cards but they did chew them and they seem to like them a lot
As stated, I already removed the one they had, and as of the puzzles, I won't even bother

I've seen many, many toys made with puzzle pieces and it seems like a great idea. But, I worry about the glue used to adhere the shiny picture to the cardboard backing. Then again, I worry about everything LOL.

I'm probably over protective too. Sometimes I feel like I cheat my birds due to an overactive imagination.

The little birdie bagels are popular, they can be peeled like puzzle pieces and they make cute toys.

The Parrot's Playhouse is also a good resource for bird safe toy parts. They run frequent specials and are very honest. I had placed an order and the shipping calculator made an error and overcharged me $2.10 over the actual shipping cost. They refunded the money with an apology. Honestly, I would have had no way of knowing what they actually paid for the shipping, and the original charge was reasonable enough that I never would have even questioned it. I like a company with integrity, so now I order my toy parts from them almost exclusively.
