Play Gym Stand

Ok I am getting conflicting reports on using Oak for a play gym for my conure... I have a huge White Oak Tree in the front of my house and would be perfect for a play gym but Im not sure weather I should use or not cause one website says you can use it and another says no way... If anyone has a correct answer or trust worthy website on whether or not I can use I would greatly appreciate it !

I just read ROSE in that safe list.

Is that like actual rose plants. Does that mean when I prune my roses I can use the branches (as long as I remove thorns) or is it another type of rose? I never thought to use Roses. They are pretty much the only plants I have too.

I never use hard woods for birds as they splinter more then soft woods.
