Pixel is my 7 year old (as for yesterday!) female Red-bellied parrot. I only got her last year, although I had met her a few years before.

You can actually read more about how we first met and how she came back into my life here:
Some might call it fate

I had actually wanted a female Red-bellied parrot for a while before I got Pixel. I had searched quite a bit, even waited through a clutch from a breeder I knew and the babies turned out to all be males..she was on my short "dream bird" list for a while.

She's quite an adorable little thing, took to me very quickly and isn't too fond of my Significant Other, although she doesn't attack him.

She also is Joey's (my other RB) sister!

She used to be named "Stewie" - don't like that name, specially not for a female bird. She's getting used to Pixel!

She is beautiful!

Thanks!

I know it's an older post but being a new member just happened to come upon it. We are first time parrot parents waiting for our new baby red belly. Of course we would be happy with either but since the female loses her red belly after molting I was worried over which sex to choose seeing that I heard the females have a reputation for being more..."well mannered" but don't have the red belly. After seeing the pictures of your Pixel, she is truly a beautiful bird, I am even more excited to bring ours home thinking I may even want a female more, male or female I don't know how I'm going to stand the wait! Thanks for the great Pics!

She is so very pretty! I love the grey feathers and those beautiful eyes.
