I got 3 little pied parrotlets yesterday! The lady I got them from gave them to me as a "trio" which they certainly are not. She said the male bred both females but when I got them home 1 female went straight to the nest box(she was very close to laying) and the male just chased the other female around. So I will just get her a new mate. Anyway here are 2 of them, couldnt get a pic of the other since she is in the box.

What lookers! I am thinking a getting a pair to try a type of raising where you allow the parents to raise them, but remove them daily to play with people.

wow!, I've never seen pied parrotlets before.
they look like a cross between a budgie and a lovebird.
I use to breed parrotlets, had different mutations, but those are beautiful.
I wonder what the babies will look like?

have you ever owned a parrotlet before...? introducing a new friend/mate to a parrotlet is like trying to introduce to lions together, they will either bond instantly or kill each other...
they sure are funny little birds.

They are both beautiful but the lighter one in the first pic is gorgeous.

They are so pretty. Mine is a pacific green. Nothing fancy other then she is split with.. Oh my brain just shut down, LOL anyway the yellow one with ruby eyes. I'm terrible, can't think! Mine is almost 4 months old. She is a doll. She does have her moments but for the most part she is wonderful. Taught her to turn around and she is trying to talk. Her name is kiwi.
