Picture of the new baby!!!! Hatched 6/26/11

Lucky. Blu is foraging but always wants formula. He's a pig. I won't be clipping him until minimum 16 weeks. As for the new cats. I just ordered another 5lb bag of the new high fat formula. Glad to see em doing so well!! They look great!!

Yea, all my babies wean right around 45days old when they're considered fledgling. A few takes a bit longer. Im still feeding twice a day in which I can cut down to once cause they really don't want to eat formula. The oldest one is 47 days old, he's not a bit interested during feeding. He is eating seeds/pellets on his own.

That's great new. Blu is 52 days now. One feeding a day and just barly touching his millet. :( He's taking a while but its ok. I just hope the newbs don't take this long!

Talking about new babies, I did tell you my pair started laying again right? She's got 3 so far and the first egg is fertile. I am removing the female out of the aviary when they're done with this batch. She can't be doing this over and over again. It's not good for her! Plus I am just getting done with one batch, here comes another...I'm wore out! The hatch date would be right around the 25th. Here we go again.....

Lol yea you did.. Can't wait to see the new babies to come. My new ones are reaching out at 15 days 13 days and 11 days already. We have one pied like Blu and 2 normals. I'm really excited about the normals. I hope they have no tick marks. It's no buggy but iv always been fond of the normal wf tiels that had perfect edging around the mask. Well see how this goes. Good luck haha
I bet deep down inside your really enjoying this! Lmao

You two can PM me if you need to know what causes unwanted babies. :p

I think you will love them if they are planned or not. I do understand how you wouldn't want to wear the momma out.

Mommys allowed 2 clutches a year. After that I remove the box, decrease light hours and I put them on a high fat diet for about 2-3 weeks then back to there regular winter mix. However with cockatiels daddy has a big part in hatching and raising unlike some species of parrot. I usually always start late so there only limited to 2 Clutchs until winter. The edge for them is dimmed. I also put them in a smaller cage.
Its my 'turn off switch' for them lol

Im just gonna separate the momma into a cage by herself after its done. There's 3 birds feeding the babies. The parents and a male parakeet. The parakeet is in love with daddy tiel. LoL

Thanks suebee!!!

Merlinsmom, yea ill love them either way. I just need the existing babies to wean first before I start on the next batch.....

That's what I'm worried about, Blu not being weaned and feeding time is literally days away. So I think I'm gonna have to feed Blu even while I'm feeding the next clutch.

They're all weaned now! I just finished weaning the rest of the babies 5 days ago. They're all eating great and screaming for me begging to come out to play whenever they see me walk pass by. They will go to their new homes in another week! Next batch hatch date starts this weekend....Here we go again....
