Hey all,

Mostly just popped it to say hellooooo! And to share a self shot photo taken the other evening.

Some of you may have read that I rescued a pigeon last month and she's come a LONG way! Pigeons are amazing and Belle has completely won over our entire family.

The other night, I had our Franklin, and our pigeon was out for her fly about time. My daughter called (yes...I really WAS talking to someone) And Belle flew over to join in on the phone fun. It was the first time Franklin and Belle had met.

A few minutes after photo shoot time, belle flew off, then came back. Franklin had moved down toward my chest and when Belle flew back to me, she landed right ON TOP of Franklin, she immediately hopped off and ran up to my shoulder, but it ticked off my boy to say the least (he's a pitbull conure) so he ran up my chest to take her on and he DID.

What shocked me more than anything, was that Belle...the pigeon, was willing to defend her turf on ME...she's like...NUH HUH! This is my mommy TOOO!!

No one was injured at all, it was just a couple pecks at each other, then I was able to grab Franklin and swoosh Belle off me for a moment.

They both climbed back up on me, but stayed on opposite shoulders looking at each other, quite smugly I must add. :D

No bird too big for Frankie...hahahaha!

Anyway, all is well here.

Have a great week!

I want a pidgeon so terribly bad but they are not a common pet around here and can get really expensive at ther few pet stores that carry them.

Pigeons in Minnesota
you could check on craigslist too, or check these guys out Welcome to the Official Site of the Minnesota State Pigeon Association

Pigeons dont show up too much here in pet stores either but there are plenty of people that breed them if you look around. I see pigeons for around $10-$20 all the time.

Awww...thanks for looking!

Pigeons are amazing, Belle has definitely enlightened me.

I'm so excited about Belle, because she was a total feral pigeon, whom I didn't expect to tame down so fast or so well.

She totally LOVES domestication, all you can eat buffet, safe from predators, consistent "indoor" climate...she's no dummy! hehehehe!

Before Belle, I had no idea that pigeons were so smart, curious, inquisitive, kind, and quiet, and she just absolutely LOVES hanging out with us. NOTHING like my parrots who...well, are fine being scritched one second then Whaaaam...decides it's over with no warning and land bastes my finger with a stout bite! (Our conure is notorious for this unpredictable behavior) Hahahaha...but don't worry, we love him to pieces too...as well as our tiels.

Anyway, thanks for looking at the picture. I'm so proud of all our birds, but Belle is currently the one who holds the most pride in me, because she was totally wild and in just 30 days is so personable that you'd never know she was struggling every day to survive in the big city.

Very beautiful picture. Pigeons are beautiful and loving birds untill they do not behave like pests. homing pigeons are good. But take care, pigeons carries more than 60 diseases.
