Sunday I was cleaning Jingle's cage. He now allows me to clean his cage while he watches sitting on the cage door. (Big improvement from when I first got him and he used to try and bite me while cleaning his cage.) I had given him some apple earlier in the day and I noticed a piece still in his bowl so I gave it to him. He immediately dropped it and looked at me and said "pick it up." I had to pick it up because I didn't want it left on the floor but birds just say the funniest things at just the right time.

Parrots are scary smart! Have you noticed when a parrot gives you a direct order, you just feel compelled to obey? Or is that just me?

My B&G always says "hello" when you get on the phone, and in the evening, just before bedtime, when I'm letting the dog out, he yells. "come on in!". But he says nothing when the dog comes in. So I think he's got it a little bit backwards. :D

I'm waiting for the day that one of my birds says "Chevy, time for night night." Chevy is my dog. Right now they are too new to me (I think) to be repeating what I say. Jingle does answer questions...but only if the answer is yes. If the answer is no he just sits and stares at me.

It is amazing how they use sentences in context! I also obey every order, I am afraid not to:)

My CAG reminds me to put the birds to bed every night. Every night, and he's almost always spot on with his timing anticipating it. "Time for bed!"
