She is very nice looking lady.

Oh! I have Galah envy! Rosie is just gorgeous and so loving. I wonder if I'll ever achieve that with my old guy? Well done, you and Rosie. :D

YEA !!! Ive missed Rosie [surprised how light her eyes are].

What kind of cockatoo is she? I'm gonna start looking for a second bird to keep sydney company while I'm at work.. He's a 10 month old male U2.. This is like a year down the road but I wanna read up and plan a head of time. Beautiful bird btw. Is she as loud as an umbrella lol?

Rosie is a very calm bird, not really cuddly but loves having her head scratched when she's in the mood :)

True eye candy, Ashley!!! GREAT pictures of one STUNNING Rosie girl!! :D
Thankyou :D

In one pic her eyes look super light because of the sun haha. I'm nearly positive she's a girl now, she's been hanging out in her outside cage, and going on more walks. Her eye ring hasn't gotten darker/bumpy at all how a males would so I don't think I'll be needing a DNA test haha.

She's a Galah cockatoo, much quieter than a umbrella. Just make sure you want a second bird too, galahs are sensitive and require a lot of work.

Copperarabian, what a beautiful girl she is. After helping out with the rescue I had I caught galah fever and as I pm'd you I am bringing home a baby this Tuesday. He is a male and his name will be Nigel. I don't want to crash this thread but you were so helpful with the rescue, I will be pm'ing you with some questions. I am excited to bring him home! I want to try and leave him flighted so we have been working on harness training as well as the breeder. How much does Rosie weigh? She is so beautiful and brightly colored, do they deepen as they age? He is still young and not as bright as Rosie.

Copper its funny I made my decision to get a RB2 also, because of all your pictures of Rosie:) My male will be flown in the end of June :).

I'm so happy I was able to help, and that's amazing your baby is coming home on Tuesday! I love the name Nigel :D Please feel free to PM me anytime

Rosie weighs 280 grams, and up to 310 grams will completely stuffed; males are usually larger than the females. Rosie is also a very lean bird with no fat on her. Fantastic to hear you are going to try leaving him flighted! Flying is vital to a galahs health in the long run.

First, my iPhone combined with Instagram's editing tends to make her color look a little more intense sometimes. Rosie's color is partly due to having been very unhealthy. There is a dark morph but I no longer believe Rosie is one as she improves in health and becomes lighter. Only time will tell how light she will become.

Here is a photo of her november 2011

Although these photos sucks, it shows her colors truthfully. They were taken April 2013

haha, Rosie is wining everyone over lol. I want to play with a baby galah sometime, they look so sweet! I once held a young male at a pet store, he was so cute and made the most adorable noises. I can't wait until the babies come and I get to see your photos :D

Rosie is a celebrity! Something about her, your relationship with her, and the way you depict that relationship in your expressive photos definitely makes her one of the personalities on this forum. :)

I didn't think a bird could require more effort than an umbrella lol. What do u mean they are really sensitive? And I know it's off topic but anyone have a good suggestion for a bird that will mix well with an umbrella?

That's awesome! Being able to convey emotions through writing and photographs is pretty cool :D

To me umbrellas require the human to tread carefully as they are highly emotional. Galahs are also cockatoos, they are generally way less demanding but still have issues. I know of many galahs who are very phobic or have neurotic tendencies.

I think a galah could be a good additional bird for a umbrella parront(not in the same cage of course), just make sure you are getting a bird for yourself not just your umbrella. They may end up hating one another, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a new bird and still love them.

Very important, galahs should be left flighted as well as motivated to fly for proper exercise. They are from a harsh climate giving them a very efficient metabolism. They are highly prone to fatty liver disease, obesity, and fatty tumors. Birds who have fat related problems will also be very prone to heart failure as they grow older. Being clipped can cut their life from 65+ years to a mere 30-40 years.

Galahs are amazing and awesome birds, just think carefully if you'll be able to live with and train a fully flighted bid.
