Once upon a time I would really get disheartened when I had a pet who hated me. To me, its pet value no longer existed and I would woefully rehome them. Time and maturity have taught me otherwise... even pets who hate you with a passion have their value... whether its entertainment or to liven up an otherwise boring captive species...

So who here owns pets that hate them? My finest example is Darwin... my male het for albino darwin python. He HATES me, to the point if he sees me, he is instantly in strike pose. Even to the point if he is hiding, he will come out to greet me with aggression. Its only me he hates this much by the way. It certainly does make him interesting. I can only handle him if he hasnt seen me first... he is the only one of my snakes I grab straight out, the others I use a stick to catch so they know its me and not food.

I also have a pet wolf spider, he certainly doesnt hate me but he is a wolf spider :p He hates everyone.

This is him trying to eat me, he is the most aggressive wolf spider I have ever come across

WOW you have cool pets! weather they like you or not, I'm sure they appreciate you taking care of them :)

i dont have any pets that hate me yet. I owned Betta fish in the past and they trusted me so much they would eat out of my hand ! they also letted me touch them and pet them gently. Coolest fish ever

Oliver dislikes me. He used to bite me, but after months of trust work, he only nips me. That's pretty big lol. On a rare day he'll step up, but only when..... he wants to do the, er, love dance.  Thats stopped so far, however. He was poked, yelled, and smacked at by a 14 year old, so being that I'm 13 it makes sense.

Hahaha this reminds me of our old cat. he hated everyone, but he would still come up for cuddles if he felt like it, but then it wasn't for our benefit but for his - and if you stopped before he wanted you to you got bitten.

AWESOME wolf spider!!! :D

I used to "collect" a good amount of tarantulas some years ago..but they didn't hate me. ;)

Oh there's some pretty large Ts in Australia...and I would NEVER dare handle any of them. They are infamous for their short temper and irritability, lol.

Believe it or not, I was THE biggest Arachnophobe, until I bought my son the first one. :D

My kitten hates me. Like, she ABSOLUTELY despises me!
I haven't done anything wrong to her either so it's really frustrating.
She loves everyone else, I feed her, buy her new toys, ect and she still hates me :(
She will even attack me in my sleep. I have woken up multiple occasions to her biting/scratching my face. And she will sleep right next to dean without any problems. She's mean. Lol.
And deans snake hates me too, he does the same thing, every time I walk past his tank his already sitting up in attack mode. I used to hold him, not anymore he hates me now. Haha. Havnt touched him for a good year at least I reckon!
The rest of my animals love me, thank god. Then the scorpion. Haha.
Oh by the way jerseywendy, there creepy, but very, very awesome!!! We have bird eating spiders over here :( I actually hate spiders haha! I havnt seen a bird eating one yet, maybe tab has she's from QLD, pretty sure that's where they are!

spiders scare me so much, all little creatures like that scare me, spiders, snakes, grasshoppers, mice :p and the reason i am scared of mice is they hide underneath the food bins at the stable, then jump out and give me a heart attack :p

what are bird eating spiders? :S we have golden orbs at our place, they are the main ones i see, there are hundreds in the trees in summer time !

Luckily none of my animals hate me :D i am the one who feeds them, i.. am.. food god ;)

and Brodie that kitten is farrrrr from evil hehe

I had never seen orb spiders till we drove to QLD one year. I would never do that again. They have big buts and HUGE webs :(

yes -.- the whole back trail where i usually ride horses just gets cobwebs across them, so you cant ride along there unless you want all these orbs hitting your head :p
and i havnt seen those big spiders.. yet ;) we may have them, i just dont go looking haha

I had a pony that hated me once. Hated me until the day he passed away at nearly 30 years (best vet estimate) bless him. We pulled him off of a meat truck, and if I went out to the field to get him he would run backward at me and kick me if he could. He pinned his ears at me, and would bite if he could reach. He absolutely adored children though, and my younger sisters rode him for years. They did everything imaginable with him, and he was always gentle and took good care of them. When they outgrew him he taught a friend's grandchildren to ride.

My Green cheek conure was nippy and mean at first. But she is friendlier now. She is sitting on my shoulder right now. My dog loves me. My betta fish doesn't hate me but I am just the hand that feeds and he doesn't like to be hassled like all fish he has a instinct to flee and not be caught. Though as a small kid my parents took in some hamsters that hated me and my sister. They ended up being given to a school teacher.

We sure do :p I had an aussie goliath that was about 220mm accross (have seen one that was 240ish and there is an even larger specimen in the museum). Also had a crass that was about 200mm. They are old world T's though and a bit leggier than the new world T's shown :) I used to breed a few species and many were sold through 'the green scorpion' online store.
I used to keep a heap of inverts including Hadronyche formidabilis the northern tree dwelling funnelweb (Australias and probably the worlds deadliest spider). haha they all hated me (in an instinct kind of way) but you have precautions in place that prevent accidents :)

My tristis monitors are nuts and just attack with feeding response haha. Have got me a few times and the bites are MUCH worse than any small-medium bird I have been bitten by.
