Pesky Flies

Hi guys have any of you found a fly killer/spray that is safe around our birds my house seems to be plagued by them just now, and they will head right for the parrots fruit bowl. And i want rid of the dirty little things. Thanks George...

Flies gather by windows, where I suck them up with a hand vacuum. There's no mess. Besides, our two get frightened when using a fly swatter.

Yeah i am getting all the ones at the windows but the ones that land on the cage are bothering me. I mean i have cleaned areas that were clean looked under kitchen units for a dead mouse or something but nothing. I am at this moment going through the kitchen with a steam cleaner in all the corners and under appliances to make sure i get as many as possible. But it looks like i need something that can be near the cage to kill the flies without harming Azarra. Thanks George.

I have been using Higgins Biological Bird Cage Spray for years. I don't spray it directly at or on any of the cages but I do spray near them. It's safe and it kills everything . I've used it on moths, flies, fruit flies, ants, cockroaches and some wired looking little white bugs that where all over my next door neighbor's palm tree. If I see ants outside I use it there as well. It seems to work inside and outside.

cut a large plastic bottle in half, turn the top half upside down and put it in the bottom half of the bottle and tape so it cant move , add a little apple cider vinegar and leave by cage , when you get up next morning it will have caught lots of flies , they love the vinegar and fly down the neck of the bottle to get at it , but with the top of the bottle being upside down they cant get back out and drown

Anyone got any other ideas for those lil knat looking fruit flies???I tried the apple cider vinager and got nothing...Caught some with beer but not enough...even tried red wine and strawberry banana Mad Dog...We are not Alcholics, I actually bought the mad dog for that purpose..even the bugs cant drink that stuff!!!!
