Two quakers and a green cheek conure
Has anyone else ever attached thin sheets of perspex to their walls to stop their birds from destroying the wallpaper.

I have kept birds for years and have always encountered this problem, but more so now with my two conures and pair of quakers.

If anyone has used Perspex, how did you attach it? I don't want to use silicone because of the fumes, so I'm looking at using either double sided transparent tape or screws. Any suggestions?

This makes sense. Reminds me of how historical homes/sites have perspex/lucite sheets affixed to the wall to keep people from touching and destroying original wallpaper or frescoes.

I was just in a historical home the other day. Perhaps you can zoom in on this photo of one of the dining rooms to see how it was affixed to the wall. I did not pay close attention at the time. 🥴

Tape won’t be strong enough, even for the thinnest piece of plastic. I would screw it in. Ask at a hardware store.

You could also put a few nails or screws in the wall near the top sticking out about one inch and take sheets of 1/16" plexiglas, drill holes corresponding to the locations of the nails, and hang the plexiglass sheets from the nails. This way you can easily remove them and take them into the shower or outdoors to clean rhem
