Brittany, our (5 mo old) BH Caique saw the dr for her well baby(new bird) visit yesterday and it was the best experience! Her Dr is Brian Speers, apparently well known in the field but more importantly the best 'bedside' manner ever!

Brian spent a good 30 minutes with me and my 9 year old son answering questions and teaching us a little about training (and this was after the vet tech spent time with us too). We were the last appointment of the day so he wasn't rushed but I would have thought that @4:00 on Memorial Day Saturday he would've been antsy to go home. His love of birds came through every moment we spent with him. He was totally engaged with her as if he hadn't seen thousands of birds before her.

Hats off Dr. Brian Speers - cant wait to see you in a month for her follow up appt!

Having an AVIAN Vet that you like, trust, and have faith in, is something! My vet, Dr. Kathleen Murphy, is a terrific vet, a very caring person, an excellent Aviculturist, and a friend.

Hi Donna! :) GREAT news about Brittaney's check up! Even better news you found an awesome avian vet!! :D And KUDOS to you for taking her for her check up!!

Ah, Dr Brian Speer! I need to find out if he has any records from 7 years ago! LOL Well, not me, but someone else....

He is one of the avian vets who worked on Charlie when he decided to bully a blind ruby macaw! (Charlie is now missing half of his lower beak and had to go through two surgeries to get it 'fixed')

I've heard good things about him!
